Anita Jane Nelson
Parrish
Jun 3, 1962 — Sep 3, 2026
Kingsland, GA
Anita Jane Nelson Parrish, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Anita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Thomas Parrish Sr.; her mother, Carol Cummings; and her father, Cecil Cummings; and her brother, Lester Cummings.
She is survived by her two daughters, Corinthia Lucretia Sanchez and her husband Joseph Sanchez; daughter Hannah Renée Johnson and her husband, Eric Johnson. She was a proud grandmother to Hailee Sue Nelson Parrish (18), Shaun Alexander Sanchez (12), Ryleigh Ann Johnson (16), Ava Jane Johnson (6), and Andrew Thomas Johnson (4), who brought immeasurable joy and love into her life.
Anita was a woman of deep faith and held close to her heart the words of Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Her faith carried her through life's challenges and gave her the strength and resilience she showed until the very end.
She was a hardworking woman who always put her family first. Anita loved fiercely, gave endlessly, and made sure those she loved knew they mattered. She was resilient beyond measure, facing life's challenges with a strength that inspired everyone around her. No matter what was placed in her path, she continued to fight.
Her journey was not always easy, but Anita never stopped showing the strength and love that defined who she was. She fought until the very end, holding on with the same determination and faith that carried her throughout her life.
Although she will be deeply missed, her love will continue to live on through her daughters, grandchildren, and all the lives she touched. The lessons she taught, the memories she created, and the love she gave will remain forever.
Anita's greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply... a family who will carry her memory forward and honor the incredible woman she was.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Georgia Hospice or Camden House in memory of Anita.
Georgia Hospice provides compassionate hospice and end-of-life care. Our family has experienced firsthand the incredible care, compassion, and support they provide. We will forever be grateful for the incredible team who has cared for our mom and supported our family during this journey.
Camden House provides safety, shelter, and support to survivors of domestic violence and their children in our community, offering a place of safety, hope, and a path toward a new beginning. This was a cause she was truly passionate about and one that reflected her deep compassion and heart for helping others.
Donations to either organization would be a meaningful way to honor her memory and help provide comfort, safety, and support to others in their time of need.
