Debra Ann
Mcgraw
Oct 22, 1955 — Sep 2, 2026
Jacksonville, FL
Debra Ann McGraw, 70, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on October 22, 1955, in New Brunswick, New Jersey and spent 52 years making a home and raising her family in Monroe Township, New Jersey. She also spent 18 years living in Lexington, South Carolina before retiring to Jacksonville, Florida to be near family.
Debra was, above all else, a woman who loved people deeply. She had a heart for caring for others, and that calling was reflected throughout her life. As a CNA for many years, she had a special gift for caring for patients with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. She brought patience, compassion, and dignity to people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. But the role she cherished most was being a mom and, later, a grandmother.
Debra raised four children: Lloyd George Wallace III (Joy), Angie Wallace (Charles), Rebecca Kazimir (Kevin), and Destinee Wallace. She was also the incredibly proud grandmother of Iana, Daylend, Haylee, Adeline, and Luna, her "miracle girls." She adored her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to tell someone about them, brag about them, or send pictures of them. Being their grandmother brought her a special kind of joy.
She loved her family fiercely and loved having everyone together. Holidays were especially important to her, and she looked forward to every opportunity to gather around a table, share food, laugh, and make memories. Fall was her favorite season, and she loved decorating for it and filling her home with the warmth and beauty of the season. Debra found joy in many simple things: tending to her garden, watching her morning glories grow, and baking something delicious for the people she loved. She was thoughtful in ways both big and small. She was the person who would answer the phone, make time for a conversation, listen without judgment, and remind you that everything was going to be okay. And she truly believed that it would be.
Debra's faith in God was one of the strongest and most defining parts of her life. She loved reading her bible, going to church, fellowshipping with others, and trusting God even when circumstances were difficult. She had a remarkable ability to choose hope. No matter what she faced, she believed that God was working things out for good. That faith carried her through the hardest chapter of her life.
After being diagnosed with cancer, Debra faced her illness with an extraordinary strength and positivity. Cancer took a great deal from her physically, but it never took her spirit. It never took her ability to love, to laugh, to hope, or to trust God. She remained incredibly tough throughout her journey, and she continued to face each day with the faith that had carried her throughout her life.
One of the most meaningful parts of Debra's final year was the relationship she shared with her first husband, Lloyd George Wallace Jr. Although they had divorced, they remained dear friends and continued to care deeply for one another. During Debra's illness, Lloyd was there for her through countless treatments and appointments, helping care for her and offering unwavering support. They spoke every day until the end. Their relationship had changed over the years, but the love and friendship between them endured, becoming a beautiful part of Debra's final chapter.
Debra was preceded in death by her second husband, James A. "Jimbo" McGraw III, who passed away in 2022. The two were married in Lexington, South Carolina on June 1, 2019.
Debra knew what she believed. She believed in God. She believed in Heaven. She believed that there was something beautiful waiting beyond this life-a place where she would be reunited with loved ones, free from pain and suffering, and finally in the presence of Jesus. And on September 2, she went to her new eternal home.
She was surrounded by love and family when she took her final breath, and her passing was peaceful. While those who love her are heartbroken by her absence, they find comfort knowing that Debra is no longer sick, no longer suffering, and no longer fighting. She is celebrating in Heaven, exactly where she believed she would be.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your master." -Matthew 25:21
Debra will be deeply missed by Lloyd, her four children, her grandchildren, and all of the family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her. Her absence will be felt in the empty chair at family gatherings, in the phone calls that will never come, in the recipes she leaves behind, in the gardens she loved, and in every holiday she cherished so much.
But her love will remain.
It will live on in her children.
It will live on in her grandchildren.
It will live on in every person she cared for.
It will live on in every life she touched with her kindness and faith.
Cancer may have taken her physical body, but it never took the woman she was.
Debra lived with faith. She loved with her whole heart. She cared for others until the very end. And now, she is home.
