June A. Cook, 97, of Ponte Vedra, Florida, passed away on September 21, 2026, at her residence. She was born on May 9, 1929, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, where she resided for 90 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. 

June is survived by her daughter, Janis Davis, and son-in-law, Andrew Davis; her son, Craig Cook, and daughter-in-law, Sonya Cook; her grandchildren, Jeff Beitel (Amy), Andrea Dall (Sean), Emily Holmberg (Raymond), Jordan Cook (Rebekah), Anna Cook and Dylan Cook (Jessica); as well as fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Sattenfield. 

June dedicated over 25 years as an assistant kindergarten teacher at Sherwood Forest Elementary School, where her passion for educating young children shone brightly. She cherished her time working with preschoolers and formed lasting bonds with her coworkers, students and their families. June was deeply devoted to her family, with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the center of her life. Her warmth and kindness made her a beloved figure to everyone she met, and her ability to connect with others was a testament to her generous spirit. 

A longtime member of Messiah Moravian Church, June will be remembered during visitation at the church's fellowship hall on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM, followed by a short graveside service at God's Acre at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church at 1401 North Peace Haven Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104. June A. Cook's legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire those who knew her. 

June was preceded in death by: James Cook, Oscar "Bevo" Ayers, Yetive Ayers, and Mary Carpenter.
