In Loving Memory of Rose Marie Henderson

March 13, 1961 - October 11, 2026

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants." - Psalm 116:15

It is with hearts broken by sorrow, yet comforted by the promises of God, that we announce the homegoing of our beloved mother, Rose Marie Henderson, affectionately known as Mama, who was called home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Rose was born on March 13, 1961, in Jacksonville, Florida. Throughout her life, she wore many hats, but none was more precious to her than being a mother and grandmother. She was a woman who loved deeply, gave generously, and stood strong through life's many trials. She was a fighter in every sense of the word, facing life's challenges with a strength that those who knew and loved her will never forget.

Mama's life was a testament to the power of love, perseverance, and faith. She spent her years caring for her family, working hard, and doing what she could for the people she loved. Her love was not measured by grand gestures but by the countless everyday ways she showed up, gave of herself, and made sure her family knew they mattered. She had a heart that made room for others, and her presence brought a kind of comfort that only a mother's love can provide.

Above all, Rose was a devoted mother whose love for her children was immeasurable. Her seven children were a tremendous part of her life, and her love extended even further through her 29 grandchildren, who brought her joy and added another beautiful chapter to her legacy. The lessons she taught, the memories she created, the sacrifices she made, and the love she poured into her family will continue to live on through every generation that follows her.

Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing that Mama's earthly suffering has ended and that she is now resting in the presence of her Heavenly Father. We take peace in the promise of eternal life and imagine her welcomed home by the Lord, reunited with her beloved husband, Richard Charles Henderson, and her cherished sisters, Yvonne Stratton and Ruth Terry, along with her beloved parents who preceded her in death.

The Word of God reminds us in 2 Timothy 4:7-8:

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

These words offer comfort as we reflect on Mama's life. She fought through difficult seasons, continued to love through life's hardships, and leaves behind a legacy that death cannot erase. While we grieve the loss of her physical presence, we are grateful for the years we were blessed to call her ours. We will carry her love in our hearts until the day we meet again.

Rose leaves to cherish her precious memory her seven beloved children: Sylvia Henderson, Alicia Henderson, Dusty Henderson, Naomi Waldron, Rebecca Henderson, Jasmine Henderson, and Cheyenne Henderson; her 27 grandchildren; and a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, other relatives, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her love.

Though she is no longer here for us to hold, her love will forever surround us. Her voice will echo in our memories, her lessons will guide our steps, and her legacy will remain woven into the lives of those she loved so dearly.

We will miss her more than words can express. We will love her beyond the boundaries of time. And we will hold tightly to the blessed assurance that this is not goodbye forever, but until we meet again.

Rest peacefully, Mama. Your work here is finished, your race has been run, and your place in our hearts will never be filled by another. May you rest in the arms of Jesus, reunited with those you have missed, surrounded by the perfect peace of Heaven.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy lord." - Matthew 25:21

Forever loved. Forever cherished. Forever our Mama.

A Special Note from Her Daughter, Alicia ❤️

Mama, no words could ever express how deeply I love you or how much my heart aches at the thought of living this life without you. You will forever be a part of me, and no amount of time could ever change the bond we share. If love alone could have kept you here, you would have lived forever. Although my heart is broken, I find comfort in knowing you are resting in the arms of Jesus, reunited with Daddy and your loved ones in Heaven. I would give anything for one more hug, one more conversation, and one more moment with you. Until we meet again, Mama, I will carry your love in my heart, cherish our memories, and love you for the rest of my days.

Rest peacefully, Mama. Your girl loves you beyond words, beyond this life, and for all eternity. Until I see you again, save me a place in Heaven. My best Gal!

Forever your daughter,
Alicia ❤️
